I know it's been a while...

GeoTagged, [N32.28349, E99.82626]

Ok, so it's been a LONG time since I've posted. I'm sorry. It's been quite busy around here!!! We got a house, Shawn found a new job, and Jacee turned TWO!!! While Shawn is still gone most weeks, he is always home on the weekends!!! Jacee has become even more attached to her daddy which is great when he gets to come home every evening!!! Not so much on the weeks when he's out of town all week long.
To add to the already uber busy state we have found ourselves in I fell and sprained my ankle two weeks before Jacees birthday party. My little angel was NOT impressed!!! Lol. We had a wonderful friend come stay with us for three weeks while Mommy was stuck on the couch. Jacee also had two friends stay with us. So we had three adults, two 2 year olds, and a 7 year old all in our little house. Lol. Can I just say it was a bit crowded?? Shawn was a huge help during this time!!! He did the laundry, washed the dishes, and cooked dinner. What a trooper!!! Ok, well, Jacee is calling. Gotta go. More later. Here is a pic to catch you up.....

Hard Days...

I know it's been a while since I've updated. Things have been kinda crazy in our lives lately. We are back home for the time being, but not of our own free will. In the midst of looking for a new direction for our lives to take, my aunt has become very ill. I know that this is usually "ALL ABOUT JACEE", but today I have something very different on my mind. I hope you will bare with me as I write down my thoughts today. Aunt Frankie and I have always been close. Ever since I was a little girl she ws the one I could go to and know she would help me to talk it out and make a desicion. (Along with a lecture. Hee Hee) I fully expected and honestly enjoyed our talks, lectures included. We used to go to my Nini's house and sit around the table to "discuss" how things I was doing needed to go. Isn't it funny how our parents can tell us the same thing numerous times, and it never gets thru but another person, who is slightly out if the circle can get us to fully understand it all? Thats kind of how it felt as a child. Frankie could tell me the same things as mom and daddy but her thoughts I was much more apt to listen to and take to heart. As I grew up, that never changed. No matter what decisions I made in my life, good or bad, she always stood behind me. I'm not saying that she always agreed wit me, but she never put me down for a bad choice either. Daddy always said that was because we were so much alike. We are both middle children with an older sister and younger brother. We were also both rebals growing up. We didn't always play by the rules and we both learned about paying the price fpr some of those actions. Aunt Frankie is hands down the strongest person I know. She has been faced with overwhelming odds more times than any one person should ever have to endure and she has always pulled thru. This time it seems different. She is still hanging in there and fighting, but the prognosis is not good. I know that I am selfish in wanting her to stay on this earth. I can't help that. I love her so deeply and I'm not ready to part with such a dear soul. I also know that she has to be tired. She has been fighting lymphoma for 9 1/2 years. Her body has been put to the test over and over. I know I'm rambling on, but this is how we are sometimes able to work out our feelings. I feel that maybe if I can just get it all out I might possibly understand a little better. Crazy huh? Well, I guess we all deal with our emotions differently. I hold it all in until I can't stand it, then I have a major metldown. Healthy? NO, but hey, thats me. So I guess I'll just say this, thank you for listening, or shall I say reading my ramblings. Heehee. I hope you all have a wonderfull week. Ours will be what it is and is in Gods hands now. If you are so inclined, please pray for a resolution to her pain and suffering. If it be God's will to heal her and bring her back to us, wonderfull!! However, if He has other plans for our beloved family member, then so be it and just please keep her from suffering. Again, thank you for reading and letting me ramble.

Just Hangin' Out

Jacee had a very eventful day today. She has been to the lake numerous times, just not in or on the lake. Today she got to do both. One of the guys Shawn works with has his ski boat here and he was nice enough to take us out today. Jacee wasn't too keen on the idea at first. After a short nap, on a moving boat, she perked up.

Our Busy Life

As I'm sure most of you know, Jacee is now 1 year old. I am so very proud of our little girl. She has been a very busy girl these last couple of weeks. She went from barely crawling to walking all over the place in what seems like just a matter of days. This first picture is of our Mother's Day trip. Shawn and Jacee took me on a trip around northwest Oklahoma. There was a museum, a river, a lake, and salt flats. This particular pic was Jacee being Jacee. Anytime the camera comes out, she becomes a little ham. She must get that from her Daddy. LOL.
When I was little, Mom and Dad used to give us the roll from paper towels, gift wrap, anything that would make a good noise maker. These were called "Doopty-Doos". (That being the noise we would make with them.) This is Jacee's first Doopty-Doo. She, of course, thought of it as more of a sword than a noise maker, but still had a blast with it.
Here is a picture if the cake that Aunt Landra made for Jacee to play in at her party. I always thought the pictures of cake stained faces and smiles because the baby was not in trouble for "playing with their food" were priceless. I wanted that for my little girl. That is not what I got. Jacee was NOT THRILLED about Mommy putting her hands in the cake. She was even less thrilled when instead of cleaning it off her hands, I allowed everyone to take pictures. I will try to post those pics later. My camera ran out of batteries (shouldn't that be high on the supply list for a birthday party?) during the gifts. I am waiting on a disc of the rest of the party from my sister and Mother. (hint, hint) LOL.
Here is Mommy and Jacee opening Jacee's gifts. At this point, Jacee was so tired, she refused to sit in her chair or any ones lap to open gifts. Nope, my little girl was only happy with the ribbon on one of the gifts. She had a wonderful time though and we are so very thankful for all of you who braved the rain to join us on such an awesome occasion. Not my top choice of weather, but hey at least the park wasn't busy. LOL.

I hope you have all enjoyed this little look into our busy week. I now have to go prepare for a cookout that the guys Shawn works with wanted to have in Celebration of Jacee's big day. After this one, I am done for a while. At least until Memorial Day!

We're Still Here

Hi everyone. I know its been a long long long time since I updated you on Miss Jacee. As I'm sure you can imagine we have been mega busy. Jacee is less than one week from 1 year old. I sit here now and wonder where the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday when we found out she was coming, and at the same time, I can't remember life without her. She is the most wonderfully amazing gift God has ever given me. I cherish every moment we have had and every one to come.
Jacee has decided she loves the outdoors. She will bring me my shoes, try to put them on my feet, and go to the door and cry until I take her outside. She doesn't care if its night or day. When she gets it in her head that we need to go outside, she is determined to do just that. I wonder where she gets that from? (LOL) Anyway, we took a trip to Canton lake earlier this week and these pictures are from that trip. Jacee had a ball.
Shawn's dream come true was when she grabbed his fishing pole and tried to take off with it. That's Daddy's little girl for you. (or should I say Daddy's little fisherman) Any of you who know Shawn, know that fishing is his favorite pastime. To have a daughter to join him in this love is even better. Tell me that didn't wrap Daddy a little tighter on that little finger of hers.
Jacee is just beginning to walk now. She took her first steps to her Daddy when he surprised with a trip home last weekend. She was so excited to see him that she took 3 steps towards him. The only drawback to that story is that everyone was a little loud with their congrats and Jacee is now a little scared to try it again. Her face went from huge smiles at her accomplishment to huge tears from the applause and such.

Jacee has also decided that books are awesome. (I know that part comes from me) She has a couple favorites that must be read over and over and over and.......well you get my drift. I love to read to her, however, I would no longer call it reading, more like reciting. You know you have read the same book too many times when you know if a line has been skipped.(Shawn) Ok, well I hope that gets everyone a little up to date on Miss Jacee. I will try to post more frequently, I promise.

Talk to you all soon.

The after picture

Here is the final product. Jacee was awesome for us. She sat so still and let the girl cut her hair. I know this is not the best pic, but I promise more will follow. The cut isn't so bad, she just doesn't look as little baby as she did yesterday. She looks so much more grown up to me. Anyways, leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
I don't know if any of you remember, but it reminds me of a haircut mom tried to give me when I was younger. I'm just glad she isn't old enough to remember this one. I would hate for her to be called a boys name for a year ( MOM) all because of a bad haircut. At least Lester would not work with her name. Maybe Jason......... Anyway, she won't remember anything but the cute little pictures we will keep forever.
Hope you all enjoyed our little story. Talk to you later.
