Hard Days...

I know it's been a while since I've updated. Things have been kinda crazy in our lives lately. We are back home for the time being, but not of our own free will. In the midst of looking for a new direction for our lives to take, my aunt has become very ill. I know that this is usually "ALL ABOUT JACEE", but today I have something very different on my mind. I hope you will bare with me as I write down my thoughts today. Aunt Frankie and I have always been close. Ever since I was a little girl she ws the one I could go to and know she would help me to talk it out and make a desicion. (Along with a lecture. Hee Hee) I fully expected and honestly enjoyed our talks, lectures included. We used to go to my Nini's house and sit around the table to "discuss" how things I was doing needed to go. Isn't it funny how our parents can tell us the same thing numerous times, and it never gets thru but another person, who is slightly out if the circle can get us to fully understand it all? Thats kind of how it felt as a child. Frankie could tell me the same things as mom and daddy but her thoughts I was much more apt to listen to and take to heart. As I grew up, that never changed. No matter what decisions I made in my life, good or bad, she always stood behind me. I'm not saying that she always agreed wit me, but she never put me down for a bad choice either. Daddy always said that was because we were so much alike. We are both middle children with an older sister and younger brother. We were also both rebals growing up. We didn't always play by the rules and we both learned about paying the price fpr some of those actions. Aunt Frankie is hands down the strongest person I know. She has been faced with overwhelming odds more times than any one person should ever have to endure and she has always pulled thru. This time it seems different. She is still hanging in there and fighting, but the prognosis is not good. I know that I am selfish in wanting her to stay on this earth. I can't help that. I love her so deeply and I'm not ready to part with such a dear soul. I also know that she has to be tired. She has been fighting lymphoma for 9 1/2 years. Her body has been put to the test over and over. I know I'm rambling on, but this is how we are sometimes able to work out our feelings. I feel that maybe if I can just get it all out I might possibly understand a little better. Crazy huh? Well, I guess we all deal with our emotions differently. I hold it all in until I can't stand it, then I have a major metldown. Healthy? NO, but hey, thats me. So I guess I'll just say this, thank you for listening, or shall I say reading my ramblings. Heehee. I hope you all have a wonderfull week. Ours will be what it is and is in Gods hands now. If you are so inclined, please pray for a resolution to her pain and suffering. If it be God's will to heal her and bring her back to us, wonderfull!! However, if He has other plans for our beloved family member, then so be it and just please keep her from suffering. Again, thank you for reading and letting me ramble.

Just Hangin' Out

Jacee had a very eventful day today. She has been to the lake numerous times, just not in or on the lake. Today she got to do both. One of the guys Shawn works with has his ski boat here and he was nice enough to take us out today. Jacee wasn't too keen on the idea at first. After a short nap, on a moving boat, she perked up.

Our Busy Life

As I'm sure most of you know, Jacee is now 1 year old. I am so very proud of our little girl. She has been a very busy girl these last couple of weeks. She went from barely crawling to walking all over the place in what seems like just a matter of days. This first picture is of our Mother's Day trip. Shawn and Jacee took me on a trip around northwest Oklahoma. There was a museum, a river, a lake, and salt flats. This particular pic was Jacee being Jacee. Anytime the camera comes out, she becomes a little ham. She must get that from her Daddy. LOL.
When I was little, Mom and Dad used to give us the roll from paper towels, gift wrap, anything that would make a good noise maker. These were called "Doopty-Doos". (That being the noise we would make with them.) This is Jacee's first Doopty-Doo. She, of course, thought of it as more of a sword than a noise maker, but still had a blast with it.
Here is a picture if the cake that Aunt Landra made for Jacee to play in at her party. I always thought the pictures of cake stained faces and smiles because the baby was not in trouble for "playing with their food" were priceless. I wanted that for my little girl. That is not what I got. Jacee was NOT THRILLED about Mommy putting her hands in the cake. She was even less thrilled when instead of cleaning it off her hands, I allowed everyone to take pictures. I will try to post those pics later. My camera ran out of batteries (shouldn't that be high on the supply list for a birthday party?) during the gifts. I am waiting on a disc of the rest of the party from my sister and Mother. (hint, hint) LOL.
Here is Mommy and Jacee opening Jacee's gifts. At this point, Jacee was so tired, she refused to sit in her chair or any ones lap to open gifts. Nope, my little girl was only happy with the ribbon on one of the gifts. She had a wonderful time though and we are so very thankful for all of you who braved the rain to join us on such an awesome occasion. Not my top choice of weather, but hey at least the park wasn't busy. LOL.

I hope you have all enjoyed this little look into our busy week. I now have to go prepare for a cookout that the guys Shawn works with wanted to have in Celebration of Jacee's big day. After this one, I am done for a while. At least until Memorial Day!

We're Still Here

Hi everyone. I know its been a long long long time since I updated you on Miss Jacee. As I'm sure you can imagine we have been mega busy. Jacee is less than one week from 1 year old. I sit here now and wonder where the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday when we found out she was coming, and at the same time, I can't remember life without her. She is the most wonderfully amazing gift God has ever given me. I cherish every moment we have had and every one to come.
Jacee has decided she loves the outdoors. She will bring me my shoes, try to put them on my feet, and go to the door and cry until I take her outside. She doesn't care if its night or day. When she gets it in her head that we need to go outside, she is determined to do just that. I wonder where she gets that from? (LOL) Anyway, we took a trip to Canton lake earlier this week and these pictures are from that trip. Jacee had a ball.
Shawn's dream come true was when she grabbed his fishing pole and tried to take off with it. That's Daddy's little girl for you. (or should I say Daddy's little fisherman) Any of you who know Shawn, know that fishing is his favorite pastime. To have a daughter to join him in this love is even better. Tell me that didn't wrap Daddy a little tighter on that little finger of hers.
Jacee is just beginning to walk now. She took her first steps to her Daddy when he surprised with a trip home last weekend. She was so excited to see him that she took 3 steps towards him. The only drawback to that story is that everyone was a little loud with their congrats and Jacee is now a little scared to try it again. Her face went from huge smiles at her accomplishment to huge tears from the applause and such.

Jacee has also decided that books are awesome. (I know that part comes from me) She has a couple favorites that must be read over and over and over and.......well you get my drift. I love to read to her, however, I would no longer call it reading, more like reciting. You know you have read the same book too many times when you know if a line has been skipped.(Shawn) Ok, well I hope that gets everyone a little up to date on Miss Jacee. I will try to post more frequently, I promise.

Talk to you all soon.

The after picture

Here is the final product. Jacee was awesome for us. She sat so still and let the girl cut her hair. I know this is not the best pic, but I promise more will follow. The cut isn't so bad, she just doesn't look as little baby as she did yesterday. She looks so much more grown up to me. Anyways, leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
I don't know if any of you remember, but it reminds me of a haircut mom tried to give me when I was younger. I'm just glad she isn't old enough to remember this one. I would hate for her to be called a boys name for a year ( MOM) all because of a bad haircut. At least Lester would not work with her name. Maybe Jason......... Anyway, she won't remember anything but the cute little pictures we will keep forever.
Hope you all enjoyed our little story. Talk to you later.

Jacee's pretty hair

Jacee has a new haircut today. Not by mommys choice either. I made the mistake of telling Shawn that I wanted to get her bangs trimmed so she could wear her hair down. And he took it upon himself to cut them during bathttime last night. Needless to say, it didn't go so well. We have an appointment to have it fixed this afternoon. I will try to post the pic of her new cut later today. Wish us luck. Talk to you all later.

Jacee hot to go to the park for the first time this morning. She had so much fun on the swings that I thought that would be the best picture to post today. She also got to slide down the big slide with mommy and had a blast. I hope you enjoy this picture. More will follow if this works correctly.

Cross your fingers

We made it...

Jacee and I had quite an exciting day yesterday. We went to Oklahoma City yesterday morning to take my friend Amber out to eat for her birthday. I checked the weather before we left and it said there was a chance for rain, but seeing as its only February, I didn't think it would be a huge deal. Boy was I wrong!!!! When I arrived in OKC, the sky's were clear and it was beautiful. After lunch we decided to go to Penn Square Mall to look around and kill some time. We realized about an hour later that there were tornadoes touching down all around us. I will now always be aware of the weather while in "tornado alley". It was a very surreal feeling to be in the middle of such chaos. We just thank God that we made it home safely and that the damage was not any worse than it was. I feel for all the people who lost their homes, and even their loved ones. I also want to thank everyone who called to check on us yesterday. I hope we didn't scare you all too bad with our little day trip.

Though I had good intentions, I failed to get any pictures yesterday. I will leave you with some older pics of Miss Jacee that I haven't posted yet.

Amber, I hope you had a wonderful birthday, at least you can't say it was uneventful ;-p

Jacee asked me to also post a very special HAPPY BIRTHDAY for her Nana today. She can't wait to see you and be your "dancin' baby girl" this weekend. She's also very ready to see her Papa and her Bubba an Saturday. Y'all have a safe trip and we will see you soon.

Just a little note.....

...to say thank you to all who prayed for Jacee to start feeling better. She seems to be feeling more like her self and even laughed for about 30 minutes today. Those of you who know her well know that something is wrong if she doesn't have a smile on her face and a giggle for new people. We hope to be on the up side of the virus.
Here is Jacee in her new John Deere shirt she got for Christmas. She asked me to show it off on her blog tonight.
Here are Jacee and her Daddy goofing off. (one of Daddy's favorite pastimes)
We recently had a visit from a dear friend of mine and her two daughters. This is Jacee and Jenson, her new best friend. Believe it of not, Jenson is the older of the two by 4 months. Jacee taught Jenson to drink out of a straw, and Jenson taught Jacee how to take her clothed off after Mommy gets her dressed. Thank you Jenson and thank goodness for onsies.

Well, I think Jacee is just about ready for bed so I will end this now. Again, thank you for all the prayers.

Talk to you all soon,

Here Goes

I know its been a while since my last post. Jacee has been very busy the past few weeks. She wants to walk so bad. We caught this picture of her standing completely by accident. She is convinced that she can balance, so she will just let go, then get mad when she falls to the ground. I know it won't be long now before she will be completely mobile. As excited as I am, I will cherish the non mobile time I have left.
This picture was taken the day Daddy taught Jacee to play cards. While she still needs help, she has the "distract your opponent" going great. With her help I actually won a few hands.
This is why we were playing cards. The guys were off work for about 3 days because of the wonderful, cold weather we had. I don't think it got out of the teens the whole time and we were around 0 or lower at nights. Let me assure you, pipes and tanks WILL freeze in a travel trailer. The best part was when the pipes finally gave way, we were 35 miles away and my husband left the faucet on full blast. The trailer was a bit soggy when we got back. I'm just so glad it wasn't me that forgot to shut it off.
Here is one last picture of Miss Jacee. I just really love the look on her face. She adores her Daddy so much and you can really tell it in this picture. There are so many more story's and pictures to share, but the program I use will only allow 4 per page. I will add more in a little while. Until then, enjoy these. I will also try to put lots more on facebook and myspace.

Talk to you all soon.

Here For Now

I know I have been slow to add pictures and stories of Miss Jacee lately and I'm sorry. It has been a bit of a busy week. We started our week out with a task that was not fun. As much as it broke my heart, we had to put our dog down on Monday. We will miss him very much, and will never forget him.

That being said, here are some pictures of Jacee that I found to be very cute. This is Jacee's idea of Peek-A-Boo. She hasn't quite got the concept of hiding her face, but I thing it is adorable. I might be a little biased so if you have an opinion, please feel free to comment. We love to hear from all of you.

This is Jacee's favorite toy since forever. It makes noises and Jacee is lost without it. As you can tell, she loves to pose and be Mommy's little ham. Once again, I may be biased, but I find it to be TOO CUTE!!!

I dread the day that the batteries finally go out on this one. At one point, we had 2 or 3 of these toys, however, this is the only survivor. It is starting to sound kind of sad.

Her is one more of Miss Jacee with her wild hair. The longer Jacee's hair gets, the less I can stand it to be left down. This picture is the reaction we get when her hair comes out of the pony tail holder at the end of the night. It is also how her hair stays until it is either put back up or washed out. I think this could be what they call a "bad hair day", but once again, Mommy loves it.

I am going to end this now and let you all know that we will be out of town for a little while. I never know if I can get Internet where we are, so if the posts slow down again please forgive me. We will take lots of pictures and get you back up to date asap.

Talk to you all soon

Jacee's New Do

Hi everyone!! I know its been a while since I have blogged. It's been a busy trip to
Grampa and Gramma's house. We have been having a blast spending time with Grampa and Gramma too. Jacee has grown so much since we last posted. She is now 8 months old!!! Can you believe it? While we were out shopping with Gramma today, Jacee met a little girl with the cutest hairdo and she asked Mommy to fix hers the same way.
This was the best I could do with dry hair. It turned out kinda cute though. Jacee was happy with her new do, but Mommy decided it would definitely be easier to accomplish in the bathtub with wet hair.
Here is another new do for Jacee. She was playing "Ace Venture, Pet Detective". Jacee
loves her bath time and Mommy tries out new "do's" while Jacee plays. She likes to play with her rubber duckies, but her toy of choice is the red plastic cup we rinse her hair with. Go figure..
Jacee and Gramma have a new Tuesday night ritual. When Gramma gets home from work on Tuesday nights, she takes Jacee in her room to play. They play "fall down". The rules are quite simple. You fall back on the bed and say "uh-oh". When the game first began, Jacee would say"oh-uh" instead. She now has it down pretty well. Her vocabulary now includes, "Mama", "Dada", "Uh-Oh", and "Nana". She tries to say Gramma and Grampa, but it usually comes out as "Amah", and "Ampah". It's so cute to see her try though. She also looks at Mommy and says "lele". Isn't that so sweet?!?!? I hope to remain Mommy and not turn into Leslie. We are working in that.

We got a phone call from Shawn tonight and he said he hopes to have the problems fixed in the travel trailer this weekend which means hopefully we can go home soon. Cross your fingers. As much as we love to be at Grampa and Gramma's house, we miss Daddy VERY VERY MUCH!!!!!!

I will try to post more soon. Hope you are all keeping warm with all the fun weather our country is having.

Talk to you all soon!!!

Happy New Year!!!

First, I would like to begin this post with a request. Shawn's cousin's husband has recently undergone a heart and lung transplant. He is fighting as hard as he can, but is struggling to recover and return to his family. He has a 4 year old son and a daughter that is 4 weeks older than Jacee. He can use any prayers that you are willing to give. We are hoping to hear good news very soon, and your prayers would help that happen even sooner. The first few pictures are of our visit with his children. We enjoyed the chance to spend some time with the kids and let Jacee see her cousin once again. They have only met once before when Jacee was 2 weeks old. The girls had a blast playing together in the floor and we can't wait to see all that they can get into as they grow up and become mobile.
Can you see any family resemblance? Those cheeks!

On a happier note...
Jacee had a wonderful first Christmas. She, like most new additions made out like a bandit. She was just a little confused as to why her clothes were in boxes, and why she couldn't eat the paper they were wrapped in.

Of all the toys Jacee got, guess what her favorite thing was?!?Oh yea, the box RULES!!
Jacee had more fun with the box than she did the singing, counting and riding train that came in it. But how do you complain about something this cute? Well, I know this doesn't even begin to fill you in on everything, but the boss is calling. Coming Jacee.
